Ruby‑in‑fuschite forms when ruby crystals grow into cavities within fuschite—a calcium‑rich, silicate mineral that often occurs in metamorphic rocks. As hot, silica‑rich fluids circulate, ruby (corundum) precipitates first, then later‑stage fluids deposit fuschite around the ruby, creating a rim. Kyanite rims develop when cooler, aluminum‑rich fluids infiltrate the same cavity, crystallizing kyanite along the outer edges.
