Beautiful high-contrast ruby-in-fuchsite cabochon showcasing well-defined corundum and bold blue kyanite rims. Quality rough like this is extremely uncommon — these cabs are cut from the only premium material I’ve ever managed to source.
The ruby forms first during medium- to high-grade metamorphism. Later fluid interaction transforms surrounding zones into fuchsite, and a final high-pressure pulse overprints the edges with kyanite, leaving that distinctive blue reaction band.
