Aragonite is one of the three common forms of calcium carbonate [CaCO₃], the most common and well-known form being calcite. Aragonite is the high-pressure polymorph of calcium carbonate and is often formed in high-grade metamorphic rocks associated with subduction zones or in deep-sea settings as a precipitated mineral from small, shelled mollusks.

These beautiful star shaped clusters have many euhedral crystals growing radially from a central mass, and are set in a 3D display for viewing from any angle.
