Care & Setting
Howardite is a jasper, so has a hardness similar to quartz (~7.5). It will do well set it most types of jewelry including necklaces, rings and bracelets.
Mined in Nevada, this beautiful gemmy brecciated silica rock has been called by several names over the years since its discovery including Rattlesnake Jasper, Royal Flamingo Agate and more recently, Howardite (not to be confused with the meteorite material from Vesta also called Howardite!).
